Adalinda and Luisa Guerrero Ferrera

Adalinda and Luisa Guerrero Ferrera, Orlan Tailoring–Adalinda: I married an American citizen and was able to come with my documents. He lived here in Chelsea where he already had his business. We met on the Internet. It happened that our families lived near each other in San Pedro Sula. I had studied dressmaking for two years in Honduras, so when I met my husband we had that incommon. He learned to sew in Honduras too. We talked about sewing and we fell in love. With my sister it was different, because she crossed the border, in Houston.A very difficult journey, yes. They received their papers recently. This business was started in 2001. Louisa and I specialize in haute couture, but we only do alterations. Our work ranges from leather jackets to wedding dresses. We do good work, and we do our work with love, of course. That is very important. With love, yes.
