Javier Villeda, owner/designer Kliq–My family’s everything to me, and then my friends that started this with me.I just wanted to make all one big community for everybody. That’s what Kliq isto me. When we were in middle school, we went to the Clark. There was Sergio,Anthony, Jamie, Emerson, Richie, and then me. We were just being kids. We were just hanging out. Ever since then, we’ve been tied like brothers. So the feeling ofthe clothes, it’s tapping into not just the aesthetic, but to the feel of those days that we had, when you could walk out, the sun’s blazing on you, and you just look great. That’s how those days were like, we would be up there, we would be hanging out, we would play beat, watching music videos on MTV Jams, and the sun’s coming in. We have 50¢ Honey Buns that we’re about to snack on before football practice, and that’s the early childhood for me.
