Molly Baldwin, founder & CEO, Roca–Roca always found people who weren’t ready to get support, who were always getting in trouble. If you think about young people who are having a hard time,it’s an extraordinary privilege to know them and to kind of walk with them.We began a long journey looking at harm reduction strategies and substance abuse work, and doing research, and actually started documenting what we were doing. For both the young men and the young women it’s the amount of trauma,PTSD, and the lack of healing that’s happened that’s really driving behavior, orfear, or lack of engagement. We created this behavioral health model that could be done on the street. We think it’s the practice that’s rebuilding the neural pathways to the thinking part of the brain and helping people heal.
